The Wonderful Company, one of the largest and most philanthropic privately held companies in the United States, announced today the latest recipients of its Central Valley Community Grants program. These grants, totaling $1.5 million, will provide direct support to help drive increased engagement with 30 local and regional organizations in California’s Central Valley.
These organizations focus on programs that encompass community health, youth enrichment, arts, and economic advancement. They not only demonstrate a genuine community need but also deliver tangible and visible results. Since its inception in 2016, the Central Valley Community Grants program has awarded over $6.5 million to more than 200 organizations and schools in the Central Valley region.
Wonderful’s co-founders, Lynda and Stewart Resnick, center their philanthropic efforts on community initiatives and programs that provide direct assistance to communities in need, starting with the communities where their employees live and work. Each year, the Resnicks, their foundations, and The Wonderful Company invest over $30 million in community development, education, sustainability, and health and wellness initiatives across the Central Valley and beyond.
“Guided by the Resnicks’ vision, Wonderful believes that the greatest impact comes from working closely with local partners. This year’s grantees and their programs provide essential resources and align with our commitment to serving as Wonderful Neighbors by listening to community needs, increasing access to resources, and collaborating on transformative opportunities that improve lives for future generations,” said Andy Anzaldo, chief operating officer of corporate social responsibility at The Wonderful Company.
“Kern Dance Alliance is deeply grateful for The Wonderful Company’s generous support, which empowers us to enrich communities, drive cultural innovation, and inspire economic growth through the arts. Their partnership has been instrumental in advancing education through programs like Books in MotionⓇ: DANCE + LITERACY and SHINE for Girls, improving literacy and STEAM outcomes for thousands of students in California’s Central Valley, including Wasco, Shafter, Delano, and Lost Hills,” said Andrea Hansen, executive director at Kern Dance Alliance.
