SONOMA, Calif., January 22, 2016 – Landmark Vineyards, one of Sonoma’s premier producers of luxury chardonnay and pinot noir, announced today its purchase of the historic Hop Kiln Vineyards located in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley.  Hop Kiln will broaden Landmark’s presence in Sonoma with its vineyards and tasting room located on Westside Road in the heart of the Russian River Valley.

The iconic location has grown wine grapes on the property since the late 1800s.  The hop kiln building itself is a registered California Historical Landmark and is recognized by the California Office of Historic Preservation as “the most significant surviving example of a stone hop kiln in the North Coast region.” The vineyards at Hop Kiln are located in the Russian River Valley and are ideally suited for growing premium chardonnay and pinot noir. The acquisition includes the current estate on Westside Road in Healdsburg, CA and more than 240 acres of land within the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley AVA.

Landmark, located in Sonoma Valley, sources grapes from the finest chardonnay and pinot noir vineyards in California, including Sonoma, Monterey and Santa Barbara counties, to produce wines that capture the uniqueness of each region. The Overlook Chardonnay and its counterpart, the Overlook Pinot Noir, are artfully selected blends of grapes sourced from these regions.  Hop Kiln joins Landmark Vineyards and Paso Robles’ JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, recently named Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, to expand the company’s luxury wine portfolio.
